PolyGlyph Recraft

Recraft pioneered AI vector generation. We built on that foundation — adding a purpose-built optimization pipeline and integrated editor so you can go from prompt to production-ready SVG without leaving your browser.

The PolyGlyph difference

The key differentiator

Fewer paths, cleaner vectors

PolyGlyph's pipeline consolidates redundant shapes using perceptual color matching (CIEDE2000). The result: files that are 3-8x smaller with fewer paths — which means faster rendering and cleaner code when you drop them into a codebase.

Edit-ready output

Every vector lands in a layer-based editor with path editing, color picker, and transform controls. Recraft outputs raw SVGs you'll need to open in Illustrator or Figma. PolyGlyph lets you fix details right where you generated them.

Transparent backgrounds built in

Background removal is part of the pipeline — toggle between subject-only and full-scene. Both modes trace as clean vectors, not rasterized cutouts with white fringe artifacts.

Choose PolyGlyph if…

  • You want production-ready SVGs with minimal cleanup
  • You need a built-in editor (no Illustrator subscription)
  • You prefer pay-as-you-go over monthly subscriptions
  • You need an API for programmatic generation
  • You want private generations on every plan

Choose Recraft if…

  • You need high-volume generation at the lowest per-vector cost
  • You need EPS, TIFF, or Lottie export formats
  • You already have an Illustrator workflow for cleanup
  • You want a free tier with 30 daily generations

Recraft V4 Vector is comparable in per-generation cost, but requires a monthly subscription that resets. PolyGlyph credits never expire — buy what you need, use them when you need them.

Frequently asked questions

Is PolyGlyph better than Recraft?

It depends on your needs. PolyGlyph produces cleaner, more optimized SVGs and includes a built-in editor with no subscription required. Recraft offers a cheaper per-vector rate on their monthly plan. Try both with free credits and compare the output yourself.

Can I import Recraft SVGs into PolyGlyph?

Yes. PolyGlyph can open any SVG file. Drag and drop a Recraft export into the editor to refine paths, adjust colors, or restructure layers.

Why is PolyGlyph slower than Recraft?

Our pipeline runs additional optimization steps — background removal, color consolidation, segment simplification, and SVGO compression. These extra seconds produce SVGs with 60-80% fewer paths and significantly smaller file sizes.

Does PolyGlyph use Recraft's model?

No. PolyGlyph uses its own generation and vectorization pipeline. We generate a high-quality raster image, then trace it to SVG using VTracer with perceptual color science — a fundamentally different approach from Recraft's native vector model.
